Office room leaks, records destroyed
KAPILVASTU: Important documents of the Tameli department in District Revenue Office have been destroyed due to mismanagement.
Most of the documents were rendered useless as they soaked in water leaking from the roof and the window.
What's worse, the records have been infested with mice and insects. The documents are found scattered here and there in the Tameli department.
The room has long been without light, ever since the electricity went haywire. It does not look like an office compartment. Office sources said important records from 1988 to 2065 BS have been ruined. The office is in no position to provide records for the period.

Village Development Committee said
the office had been unable to provide him with a record despite his repeated
requests. Rakesh Kumar Chaudhari, a department staffer, said failure to produce demanded records had been their usual worry. He accused the office chief of being apathetic to the staffers' problem.
Admitting that the Tameli department was in a mismanaged condition, Chief Giridhari Subedi said, ''We have no funds to maintain the department.''
Informing that the office was going to digitise all its records, he added problems facing the service seekers would be solved once the plan was materialised.
