Offices locked

Gulmi, January 5:

Accusing the chairman and vice-chairman of the district development committee Gulmi of indulging in corruption, the locals padlocked their offices in Tamghas, the district headquarters of Gulmi, today.

The people staged a demonstration in Tamghas and called on the nominated officials to resign.

The DDC chairman and vice-chairman misappropriated funds by presenting fake bills, which, they claimed, concerned with the King’s visit to the western region, said a former chairman of Tamghas VDC, Bhuwan Shrestha. The acting local development officer, Arjun Prasad Aryal, was transferred as he declined to approve of those bills, Shrestha added.
