Oli urges PM Deuba to pave way for new govt

BHAKTAPUR: The CPN-UML Chair KP Sharma Oli has urged Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba to pave the way for the formation of a new government.

Speaking with the media on Saturday, Chair Oli said that the Prime Minister must respect the election results and step down without trying to extend his term in the Office.

Moreover, Oli accused the incumbent government of forwarding a non-constitutional ordinance to the Office of the President on the formation of National Assembly in its favor.

"The proposed non-constitutional ordinance must not be passed by the President," Oli said adding, "The Nepali Congress is trying to extend its term in Government by creating strife in formation of National Assembly."

Oli stressed that the formation of National Assembly is not a pre-requisite to establishing a new government.
