On April 22, we will give message of peace, prosperity, unity to the world: Leader Dahal

KATHMANDU: CPN Maoist Centre Chairman and former prime minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal has said the leftist parties have agreed for unification on April 22.

Addressing a programme organised at his residence in Khumaltar to reunite cadres from Rautahat district and to welcome new cadres, Dahal said, "On April 22, Nepal will give the message of peace, prosperity and unity to the whole world."

Dahal further said both parties have agreed on April 22 as the date for announcing the unification of the two major leftist parties in Nepal.

Meanwhile, internal preparations would be done and matters related to unification would be finalised after Prime Minister and CPN-UML Chairman Oli returns home after completing a three-day state visit to India.

"In the presence of thousands of people, we will give the message of Nepal entering into a new era, as that day would be historic," Dahal said.

Chairman Dahal also said that the reports submitted by the task forces have incorporated the roles played by oppressed community during the people's war.

He also clarified that the unification would be finalised after forging consensus on election symbol and ensuring an equal ratio of leaders to be inducted in the unified party's committees, from both parties.
