RAJBIRAJ: A group of two persons riding on a motorcycle, reportedly fired a shot at a policeman critically injuring him in Khadak Municipality-8 of Saptari district last night.

The injured has been identified as Police head Constable Mahendra Prasad Yadav of Harinagara, Sunsari.

Sardar was stationed at Kalyanpur-based Area Police Office, who was on duty at Bishanpur Chok on Wednesday night

According to Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Bhabesh Rimal at Saptari District Police Office, two unidentified persons riding on a motorcycle took shot at Sardar from a gun and immediately fled the scene. Subsequently, the Head Constable who sustained injuries on his back was rushed to a health institution in Biratnagar for the treatment.

It has been learned that a brochure of Pragatisheel Terai Mukti Morcha was recovered from the incident site.
