Sadbhavana burns constitution pact

RAJBIRAJ: Sadbhavana Party leaders and cadres burned a copy of the 16-point agreement that had been reached between the four major political parties — NC, CPN-UML, UCPN-M and MJF-D at Martyr Darshan Chowk in Rajbiraj on Wednesday. Sadbhavana party men set the agreement paper on fire saying that it was a document that went against Madhes and Madhesi people. Before they burned the accord paper, a protest rally was staged from the party office in Rajbiraj.

Succour for victims

KATHMANDU: As many as 110 Dalit and Tamang families of Kabilash and Kuwapani villages, Nuwakot, who were rendered homeless by the April 25 earthquake and its subsequent aftershocks, received relief materials from BTT Company and Espel Kamp Primary School of Germany on Wednesday. Dinesh KC, Bunu KC, Sanjay Singh, Ram Hajur GC and Madhav GC of Kathmandu, among others, handed over corrugated zinc sheet worth around Rs 800,000 to the quake-affected households on behalf of the company and the school. They lso provided corrugated zinc sheets to 13 households in Kavre. Bunu said they collected the amount for relief distribution and provided housing materials to the homeless of Nuwakot and Kavre districts.
