30 get back jobs
Birgunj: The Triveni Fabric Industry, a subsidiary of Triveni Group, has agreed to reinstate 30 of the 65 workers, who were sacked some five years ago, within 15 days. The management of the Triveni Fabric agreed on this during talks with the representatives of the All Nepal Trade Union Federation (ANTUF) on Monday. The industry management has agreed to make permanent 20 of them and keep 10 others on probation. The management has also agreed to terminate service of non-Nepali workers. — HNS
UML’s meeting
Kathmandu: Standing committee meeting of the CPN-UML chaired by general secretary Madhav Kumar Nepal on Monday discussed the issues to be sorted out by a meeting of the seven-party scheduled for Tuesday in Bhaktapur. UML leader Ishwor Pokharel said they delved into the issues of an interim statute, UN role in arms management, election to constituent assembly and Friday’s meeting between the SPA and the Maoists. — HNS
Landslide toll 21
Pokhara: With two more bodies found, the death toll in Friday’s landslide in Dangsingh VDC-9 of Kaski reached 21. Bodies of Hom Bahadur Pun, 35, and his daughter Anita Pun, 10, were recovered on Monday, Kaski CDO, Badri Nath Ghimire, said. — HNS
