Home Ministry’s plea

KATHMANDU: The Ministry of Home Affairs appealed to the people of Koilabas and Rajpur, who are temporarily living in Karari Forest Community at Satbari- 2 in Dang demanding basic facilities in their respective villages, to return to their respective villages on Monday. In a press statement, the MoH said the Cabinet had already directed the ministries concerned to properly address the demands of the villagers who had left their villages. — HNS

Five persons arrested

RAUTAHAT: The Armed Police Force (APF) personnel on Sunday arrested five persons, accusing them of opening fire and threatening locals at Karuniya VDC in the district. The arrested opened fire at Habibur Rahman to threaten him. They also thrashed Patel Kurmi from the same place. “The gang had fled the scene after opening fire at the duo. However, we arrested them from Jhunkhunwa with a jeep with Indian registration,” Gaur-based APF Border Security Office said in a statement. “The arrested have been identified as Ram Kishor Yadav, Manoj Patel, Radoray Yadav, Nagendra Yadav and Mahesh Prasad,” SP Mahesh Shrestha said. The arrested persons have been handed over to District Police Office, Rautahat, for necessary action. — HNS
