Alliance blacklists six

BARA: The seven-party alliance in Bara district has blacklisted six persons, accusing them of working against the ongoing democratic movement there. Those blacklisted are RPP (Thapa) Bara chairman Raj Narayan Shah, DDC chairman Ram Bilash Chourasiya, deputy DDC chairman Mohan Yadav, Bara unit president of the Samajbadi Party Rup Narayan Shah, mayor of Kalaiya municipality Sushil Chougai and deputy mayor Manzur Ansari. — HNS

9 hurt in road mishap

LAHAN: Nine persons were injured when a tractor bound for Madhupatti from Sothiyain of Saptari skidded off the road near Lahan bazaar on Thursday night. The Area Police Office, Lahan, said the tractor with registration number Sa 1 Ta 1250 was carrying members of a marriage procession. The injured — Jagbir Yadav, Mohammad Allauddin, Brij Lal Yadav, Bhousu Yadav, Ashish Choudhary, among others — are undergoing treatment at Lahan Hospital. — HNS

Four bodies found

RUPANDEHI: Locals have found four bodies at Bhujauli village in the district’s Sadi VDC. They have identified the bodies as that of 32-year-old Hari Ram Rawal of Jogada VDC, 35-year-old Anwar Ali Musalman, 40-year-old Kariya Dhobi and Gonaha VDC’s Bikram Prasad Dhawal. — HNS

Dacoits chased away

BARA: Locals of Haraiya chased away around 24 armed dacoits on Thursday night, a local, Sona Lal Shah, said. Night patrolling was launched in the area a week ago after the formation of a 25-member committee under the coordination of local Ram Ekwal Choudhary. — HNS

Youth hurt in blast

SUNSARI: A youth was seriously injured when a socket bomb left by Maoists went off at Sagarmatha Tole in Dharan Municipality on Thursday. According to the Area Police Office, Dharan, 20-year-old Purna Limbu sustained serious injuries following the explosion. He was on his way to a spout near his house to fetch water when the incident occurred. — RSS

Maoists arrested

KATHMANDU: Two Maoists who had infiltrated the protest programmes organised by the seven-party alliance were arrested by security forces at the Lamki Bazaar area of Baliya VDC in Kailali on Thursday. The duo has been identified as Srijana Lamichhane, alias Sarita and Parbati Buda, alias Bimala of the district’s Sugarkhal VDC and Rajkanda VDC-2. The Far Western Divisional Headquarters of the RNA, Dipayal, said the two were arrested while they arrived in the area with villagers who were forced to participate in the programmes. — RSS

JAJARKOT: A rally was taken out on Thursday in the district headquarters Khalanga for the restoration of peace in the country. Participants of the rally that was taken out from the Thanti bazaar of Khalanga carried placards and banners for the restoration of peace and for the resolution of all problems through dialogue. — RSS

Bee-keeping popular

DHANUSA: Bee-keeping is catching on with farmers of the district. Landless and low-income farmers are earning good income from bee farming. Binod Kumar Singh of Baigadabar VDC, a local resident, is supporting his family with the income he earns from beekeeping. Mostly the farmers of Dhalkebar, Mahendranagar, Bharatpur and Tulsi VDCs are attracted to the business. — RSS
