Maoists’ released
KAPILVASTU: Eighteen of the 24 detainees in the Kapilvastu District Jail, who were arrested on the suspicion of being Maoists have been released following the Appellate Court orders, a jail administration source said. However, the police rearrested three of them after their release, officials of the Advocacy Nepal Forum said, adding those rearrested are Tuphel Ahamad Haji Musalman, Radha BK and Gita Nepali. — HNS
Social worker dies
BIRATNAGAR: Senior Social Worker and 2007 BS freedom fighter Narayan Prasad Koirala passed away on Thursday at his own residence at Biratnagar at the age of 79. He was suffering from lungs cancer. He was former member of Nepali Congress general committee and also was former District Chairman of Nepali Congress-Democratic, Morang. — HNS

Rs 1.2 million looted
NEPALGUNJ: An armed group looted Rs 1.2 million from the Karnali Development Bank, on Wednesday. The group looted the amount by keeping two persons who had withdrawn money from the bank at gunpoint in front of the gate of the bank. — RSS
Training on HIV/AIDS
RAJBIRAJ: A four-day gender mainstreaming, conflict management and HIV/AIDS training run jointly by the Regional Office of the Decentralised Local Self Governance Cooperation Programme, Biratnagar, and DDC Saptari concluded here on Wednesday. The training was organised to discuss how to include the conflict related and HIV/AIDS programmes in the DDC and VDC plans. — RSS
