Mass meet on Nov 12

PALPA:

Civil society, Palpa is going to organise a mass meeting in Tansen on November 12. Speaking at a press meet programme on Tuesday, Bashudev Aryal, president of civil society, Palpa said that civil campaign is an essence in the present situation. Informing about the formation of society and its’ purposes, Secretary, Bheshraj Subedi said, “The mass meeting has the responsibility to head democracy towards.” He also requested representatives of different political parties, workers’ unions and civilians to gather Tribhuvan Campus ground on November 12. — HNS

Free legal services

DOTI:

Women, children, Dalits and ethnic and victimised people of Doti district are benefiting from a free legal counseling programme being organised by the Bar unit, District Court of Doti. According to Nawa Raj Bhatta, secretary of District Bar Unit, local people from remote areas have been approaching the Bar Unit for legal counseling after the programme was introduced for the first time in the district. The Bar Unit, which has been formed by active youth lawyers in Doti, has provided free legal services to more than 24 people so far. — RSS

Anti-HIV/AIDS drive

SYANGJA:

A VDC-Municipal partnership programme on HIV/AIDS and STD Prevention along with women empowerment will be launched in Putalibazaar municipality of Syangja with financial and technical assistance of the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) from this fiscal year. According to Ramesh Adhikari, National Programme Manager of the UN Programme, the programme will be carried out with the coordination of the municipality. The programme, which will be in force till December 2007, will give priority to development of IT, formation of organisations among others. —RSS
