ANI stalls operation
KATHMANDU: Air Nepal International has temporarily stalled its operation after a ground handler at the Tribhuvan International Airport caused damages to the ANI aircraft at 8.00 pm on Thursday. ANI, in a press statement issued on Friday, blamed the Royal Nepal Airlines Corporation, the ground handler of international airlines at the TIA, for the damages. Engineers from Bangkok are repairing the damages, which will be completed by Sunday after which operations will resume, it has said. — HNS

KATHMANDU: HimRights Lifeline has urged the Maoists free Pushkal Karki. A group of Maoists reportedly released eight abducted civilians of Gogane VDC, Makwanpur, who had been abducted on August 10. They are yet to release Karki. — HNS
Donation to hospital
Kathmandu: World Vision Nepal’s (WVN) Mid-West Relief and Rehabilitation Project handed over an ultrasound machine to the Jumla district hospital last week, a press statement issued on Friday by WVN said. WVN has also constructed an OPD building. Dr Guna Raj Awasti, chief of district Hospital, thanked WVN for providing the machine. — HNS
Nepal-San Marino ties
KATHMANDU: Nepal and Republic of San Marino established diplomatic relations at the ambassadorial level on August 10. Acting permanent representatives of Nepal to the UN, Arjun Bahadur Thapa, and permanent representatives of San Marino to the UN, Daniele D Bodini, signed the agreement amidst a special function in New York. — HNS
