NC-D meet in Raxaul
BIRGUNJ: Nepali Congress (Democratic), Parsa, organised a mass meeting in Raxaul of India on Sunday. NC-D president of Parsa Rajendra Bahadur Amatya said more than 500 party workers and supporters were present at the meeting. Fire claims three lives
PYUTHAN: Three persons were killed and property worth millions of rupees was destroyed in a fire at Bitdanda of Bangemaroth VDC-6 on Thursday. Nama Khatri, 86, the mother of Bhoj Bahadur Khatri and his two sons Raju and Hem, aged nine and six respectively, died in the incident. The fire destroyed five houses and cattle sheds. — HNS
Bar council results
KATHMANDU: The Nepal Bar Council on Sunday announced the results of the counselors’ election held in five development regions recently. Bharat Thapa, professor Dr Ranjit Bhakta Pradhananga, Hari Prasad Subedi, Bholasingh Hamal and Nitya Nanda Pandey have been elected from eastern, central, western, mid-western and far-western regions respectively. The Bar Council makes policies regarding law practice in the country. — HNS
Mag office vandalised
CHITWAN: The branch office of Himal Khabarpatrika at Shaeedchowk, Narayangadh, was vandalised and property stolen on Saturday night. Buddhi Kattel, the chief of the office, said the thieves stole Rs 3,000 by breaking the locker. They also broke the office door and two padlocks. A ward police team made an inspection of the site on Sunday. — HNS
