Dailies back in print:
RUPANDEHI: Local dailies that had suspended publication for the last few days have resumed publication from Monday. Except for Daily Lumbini, other dailies published in the district — Jana Sangharsha, Mechi Kali Sandesh, Bhawana and Butwal Today – are now available in the market. These newspapers resumed publication after reaching an agreement at a meeting of security officers and journalists that no article against the spirit of the royal proclamation will be published. — HNS
Dacoits kill one:
JANAKPURDHAM: A gang of dacoits killed one Biltu Musalman, a resident of Malhaniya of Nanupati VDC, eastern Dhanusha, on Tuesday, while another gang looted several houses in three different VDCs of Mahotari on Sunday. They are reported to have looted goods and valuables worth more than a million rupees. — HNS
FM meets envoys:
KATHMANDU: Minister of Foreign Affairs Ramesh Nath Pandey on Wednesday met Egyptian envoy Navine Ashmawy and Mya-nmarese ambassador U Myint, according to a ministry statement. They held discussions on the current situation of Nepal and on issues of mutual interest, it added. — HNS
‘Taxi’ ambulances seized:
DHARAN: Three ambulances were impounded by the police on Tuesday saying the ambulances were being run as taxis. Inspector Krishna Prasad Sharma of Dharan Police Office said the impounded vehicles are — Lions Club Dantakali’s Maruti van (Ko 1 Cha 1805), Mahindra jeep (Ko 1 Cha 3169) run by Goma Memorial Trust, Sunsari, and a Tata Sumo with Indian number. — HNS
Man kills wife:
BIRATNAGAR: One person committed suicide, while a woman was beaten to death by her husband on Wednesday. Ram Bahadur Rai, 45, committed suicide by slitting his throat with a blade in a bathroom of Chandani lodge, said Morang district police office. He had been running a paan shop at Traffic chowk for the last 15 years. Meanwhile, Pratima Biswokarma, 20, was killed when her inebriated husband Jugal Rai hit her with a grinding stone during an agrument at Juntara hotel in Biratnagar -14. — HNS
One dies of electrocution:
DHANKUTA: One person was killed and four injured on Wednesday as a result of electrocution at Lakure, Dhankuta. Lal Bahadur Shrestha, 41, was killed when he was pulling electric wires to Lakure village along with other locals and Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA) employees. NEA technician Dhankuta Gunga Shrestha and local Shashi Kumar Rai were seriously hurt. — HNS
