4 govt officials abducted

PHIDIM: Maoists on Thursday abducted four government officials, including District Education Officer Dilliram Luintel, who were returning from a mobile camp at Yasok Bazaar of Panchthar district. They were abducted from Dhurpise Panchami village at the border of Ilam and Panchthar. — HNS

Shot man ‘innocent’

PHIDIM: Tham Bir Rai, who was gunned down on April 12 during an RNA search operation, is said to have been an innocent civilian, according to locals. The commando forces of Bhairabnath Gun of Kathmandu were deployed to look for the 41 police personnel abducted from Pashpatinagar. Rai was gunned down during RNA firing. — HNS

No treatment for hurt kids

JANAKPURDHAM: Three children, who were injured on Tuesday in Ranichaur when a bomb that they were playing with went off, have still not received proper treatment. Five-year-old daughter of Santa Bahadur Moktan Kopila, eight-year-old Urmila, and seven-year-old Santa Maya Joshi were hurt in the explosion. — HNS
