Mothers’ Day today

Those whose mothers have passed away go to the Matatirtha Kunda at Thankot on Monday to pay tributes to their mothers. Legend has it that Lord Bishnu asked people, whose mothers had passed away, to bathe in the Kunda and that he gave them a glimpse of the departed mothers, thus the festival is celebrated with a hope that the departed soul would rest in peace and that their blessings would make the life in the world easier.
