5 rebels killed, 5 surrender
KATHMANDU: Security forces shot dead at least five Maoists in separate clashes while five Maoists surrendered in the last 24 hours. Two armed rebels were killed in Dailekh and two others were shot dead in Surkhet, the Army Headquarters said on Sunday. One Maoist cadre was killed on Saturday when he was trying to set off an electric ambush at Dhaireni of Tasapu VDC, Dhading. He has been identified as Ramesh Shahi alias Prakash of Baneshwor, Kathmandu. Two Maoists- Man Bahadur Oli and Padam Bahadur Thapa of Dailekh, and Man Bahadur Budha, Reltha Bhandari and Puskar Bohora of Rukum, surrendered to security forces.
Husband kills wife’s rapist
Gaighat: A man has killed a person for raping his wife. Sher Bahadur Magar, a resident of Siddhipur VDC of Udaypur district killed Jeevan Magar for raping his wife on Saturday night. "My wife was raped in Pokhara where she had gone to find some work as a labourer," Sher Bahadur told the police at District Police Office, Gaighat. "I lost my temper when Jeevan himself told me about the incident after he returned from Pokhara," he said.
Girl trafficker held
BHARATPUR: A man who was on his way to traffic a 14-year-old girl to India was intercepted by the Purano Gorakhgan forest check post in Chitwan on Thursday. Karna Bahadur Gandarva, a resident of Ward No-4 in Salang VDC of Dhading district was taking the girl, a resident of Ayodhyapuri VDC of Chitwan promising to get her married. The trafficker who later confessed his ill-intention was handed over to the district police office. RSS
Lightning kills boy
DHADING: A seven months old boy died
and two other children were injured when they were struck by a lightning on Saturday. The deceased has been identified as Anil Shrestha, the son of Rajendra Kumar
Shrestha while the injured are Sharmila Shrestha and Som Lal Shrestha (11) of Ward No-3 in Damgor. The injured are undergoing treatment at Dhading district hospital.
In another incident, two goats died in Bhaduwar village when they were also struck by lightning. RSS
Dacoits loot Rs 1 million
RAJBIRAJ: An armed gang of dacoits on Friday night looted cash and property worth about Rs 1 million from the houses and shops of different persons at Bamangamakatti VDC, Topa bazaar of Saptari district. The looters terrorised local people by randomly detonating hand-bombs, firing guns and beating up before having made their way with the property and cash, the local people said. RSS
Dalit expelled from village
DOTI: A Dalit family of Doti district Durgamandu VDC was physically abused and expelled from the village on the charge that he rejected to work as Haliya (a bonded ploughman) in the house of a local landlord. Narayan Bista and his brother Thagi Bista, assisted by some neighbours, beat up and expelled 75-year-old Lakshe Kami and his sons from the village as Kami denied to work in the houses of Bista brothers. the Dharan town area. Though such polluting tempos have not been permitted to run inside Dharan some operators are found to
run them without permission which prompted the municipality to levy a ban. RSS

agency here is reported to have cheated lakhs of rupees from people aspiring to go abroad for foreign employment. All office-bearers and representatives of the agency named abord job links and communication centre are reported missing after collecting lakhs of rupees from job seekers. RSS
