Dearth of medicine in

BHOJPUR: In a mockery of the government slogan of free health service, health facilities in Bhojpur districts have run out of medicine. The situation has hit patients since health workers can do nothing without medicine. District Public Health Chief Dr Narendra Kumar Jha said medicine could not be supplied to health posts as the government had not replenished the supply. Health posts lack even the most essential medicine such as paracetamol or jeevan jal. Department of Health has not supplied medicine this fiscal year. Health workers have criticised the government announcement of free health service for its lack of enough preparation on the matter. There are three primary health centres, nine health posts and 51 sub-health posts in the district. What’s worse, many health centres are under-staffed.
