Schools shut in east
ITAHARI: Teachers appointed in Relief Quota on Wednesday shut all the schools in the eastern region demanding better pay and perks. This is the final stage of the protest the agitating teachers launched on September 2. According to Dharmendra Thakur, coordinator, Relief Teacher Struggle Committee, 900 teachers have been working in primary, lower secondary and secondary levels in relief quota in the region. The agitating teachers said they had to resort to the protest since the government had not addressed their demands. — HNS
Mystery death
NEPALGUNJ: Dal Bahadur Rokka, a peon in Nepalgunj-based Birendra Police Hospital, died under mysterious circumstance on Tuesday night. He had walked out of the hospital at 8 pm on Tuesday and his body was found on Wednesday morning some two kilometres away. Though the police said Rokka had died after his mobile exploded, post mortem report showed that he died due to the severe injury in the heart. “The mobile parts had caused injuries in his heart
