Mom, son found dead

Rupandehi: A woman and her son were found dead in Butwal-based Rajdoot Hotel on Saturday. Her another son was found unconscious. According to Jiblal Chundali, police inspector, at Area Police Office Butwal, 30-year-old Usha Bhattarai (Kamala), and her 12-year-old son Shatisas — residents of Birpur VDC 9 of Kapilvastu district — were those found dead in the hotel. Usha’s 10-year-old son Bibek, who was found serious in the hotel room, was later referred to Kathmandu for further treatment after offering primary treatment in Lumbini Zonal Hospital. Chundali said that investigation into the deaths was underway. — HNS

Property gutted

Saptari: Property worth Rs 200,000 was gutted in fire that broke out in Patthargadha VDC on Saturday morning. Two houses were totally burnt from the fire that spread from a cowshed of one Faudi Khanga of Patthargadha-9. Four domestic animals were burnt to death and all the property inside the house was reduced to cinder, police said. Locals and police doused the fire after about an hour. — RSS
