Package for flood hit

BHADRAPUR: Minister for Local Development Purna Kumar Sherma Limbu today said that the government would resume special programme to distribute relief to the flood hit families and reconstruct the damaged physical structures in Jhapa district. Speaking at a programme organized by the District Development Committee, Sherma directed the authorities to expedite the relief distribution to the affected people in time. Assistant Chief District Officer, Lekhnath Pokhrel informed to minister Sherma about the property loss done by flood and steps taken for relief packages. Pokhrel said additional medicine is required in the district as there is high risk of diarrhea epidemic. During the programme, Local Development Officer Bhupal Bahadur Niraula demanded the financial aids for completing the damaged physical properties as the donation from DDC would not suffice. Minister Sherma is scheduled to observe the inundated areas in the district today. — RSS
