SC panel formed

KATHMANDU: The Supreme Court today formed a panel of judges to study three separate draft bills related to the judicial administration.A full court meeting of justices of the apex court held today formed the panel after the government forwarded the draft bills seeking the Supreme Court’s advice. The draft bills sent to the Supreme court are Bill to Amend Nepal Act Relating to Judicial Administration, Bill Relating to Constituent Revenue and Commercial Court and Bill Relating to Manage Administrative Court.The full court meeting assigned Justices Rana Bahadur Bam, Prakash Wosti and Bharat Raj Upreti to study the bills and submit their report before the Supreme Court within the next 15 days. “After the panel submits its report to the Supreme Court, the full court meeting will decide on necessary suggestions on the draft bills,” Hemanta Rawal, assistant spokesperson at the Supreme Court, said. — THT Online

Electricity from China

Sankhuwasabha: Locals of Kimathanka Village Development Committee, Sankhuwasabha, are planning to import electricity from across China. Electricity would be imported through Kimathanka entry point which borders China. According to the secretary of Electricity Supply Committee formed by the villagers, Tenchhebi Bhote, the committee was formed after a local Chinese company agreed to sell electricity to the villagers. Chairman of the committee, Thilen Khamba, said, “Around 60 families in Kimathanka Village Development Committee would benefit through the import of the electricity.” He added that the electricity would be imported with the agreement of local administration of Deddang, China. — THT Online
