12 houses gutted
KAPILVASTU: Twelve houses were gutted when a fire broke out in Mugauli VDC-2 of the district on Wednesday afternoon. The blaze was brought under control by a fire engine from Krishnanagar and locals. The details of the loss are yet to be assessed, SP Bikram Singh Thapa said. Meanwhile, a fire broke out at Shree Mahalaxmi Sugar Mill at Jawabhari on Wednesday. However, no casualty or loss of property has been reported in the incident. — HNS
Five students hurt
DHADING: Five students of Barpipal Lower Secondary School of Ghyamrung VDC were injured when they fell from a tree on Tuesday. They fell from the tree after the branch they were sitting on suddenly broke. According to former chairman of Ghyamrung VDC, Dambar Bahadur
Adhikari, Budh Bahadur Gurung and Laxman Shrestha were critically injured in the incident and they were taken to Kathmandu for treatment. Three others are undergoing treatment in Dhading District Hospital. — HNS
Fake citizenship
BABIYACHAUR: Police have arrested two women on Tuesday on the charge of possessing fake citizenship certificates. CA member Govinda Poudel caught Siring Dolma and Karama Wangchuk with the fake citizenship papers and handed them over to the police. According to Poudel, the two had come to his place to attest their citizenship certificates to get passports.
