Teen kills dad

GAIGHAT: An infuriated teenager clubbed his father to death with a large piece of firewood in Udaypur on Friday when the father told him to chop firewood. Tek Bahadur Rai, 50, a resident of Belha in Tapeshwori VDC, was critically injured following the attack and died while being rushed to hospital, police said. His son Chitraman, 15, is in police detention. — HNS

Rajbiraj: Saptari-Siraha bureau in-charge Bechan Yadav of Madhes Mukti Tigers was gunned down by the police on Saturday. Yadav, alias DSP, was killed in action when he shot at the patrolling team of police at Bhardaha in Saptari, the Saptari District Police Office stated.
