Probe panel formed

KATHMANDU: The Home Ministry on Wednesday formed a three-member committee led by SP Deepak Ranjit to probe the death of Chandra Kumar Yadav in police custody in Siraha. Deputy secretary at the Regional Administration Office, Dhankuta, Chandreshwor Pokharel and Deputy Investigation Director at National Investigation Department’s regional office in Dharan Pushkar Chapagain are the members of the committee. — RSS

Kalam arriving

KATHMANDU: India’s former president APJ Abdul Kalam is scheduled to arrive on a two-day visit to Nepal on November 17. The 77-year-old nuclear scientist will be the guest of honour at the convocation of Kathmandu University on November 18. — IANS

Deuba flays Maoists

Dhangadhi: NC leader Sher Bahadur Deuba on Wednesday said there was no possibility of his party entering into any future understanding with the Maoists as the latter had flouted all past agreements. Deuba also flayed the Maoists for not returning seized property and not controlling the YCL’s bullying tactics. — HNS
