Dacoits strike
MAHOTTARI: Dacoits looted cash and property amounting to more than Rs 1.5 lakh from Sahodawa VDC in Mohattari on Monday. The dacoits looted Rs 85,000, a tola of gold and 10 tola of silver from the houses of Bhubaneshwor Jha and Parameshwor Jha, according to the police. The police said manhunt for the robbers was underway. — RSS
Biker killed in mishap
BUTWAL: A person was killed in a road accident on Tuesday in the Milan chowk of Butwal. The poilice said Rameshwor Chhetri, who was injured when a minibus hit the motorcycle he was riding, died while undergoing treatment in the Lumbini Zonal Hospital. It is not clear whether action has been initiated against the minibus driver. — RSS
Home Ministry’s plea
KATHMANDU: The Ministry of Home Affairs has requested all concerned not to sell and use firecrackers in Tihar. Issuing a press release on Tuesday, the ministry said action would be taken against all those, who are found indulging in the sale and use of firecrackers. — RSS
Indian assistance
BIMPHEDI: The Indian government provided books related to wildlife, vegetation and environment to the Hetauda-based Wildlife Museum. The assistance was worth Rs 2 million, said Keshav Raj Kafle, vice-administrator of the museum. More books would also be handed over to the museum within this year. — RSS
