KATHMANDU: The USAID has released an additional $42 million assistance on a backdated agreement to Nepal for the the fiscal year 2065/66. According to a press release issued by USAID here on Tuesday, the funding is a part of a total US development assistance package for Nepal, which stands at approximately $67 million in the current fiscal year. — HNS

Two held with drugs

KATHMANDU: Narcotic Drug Control and Law Enforcement Unit, New Baneshwor, nabbed two people from separate places with 84 grammes of brown sugar. Kapil Rai, 37, of Maitidevi, was arrested with 69 gm of the contraband from Bhatbhateni on Monday. The police said Rai was held with 3 kg of hashish in Indonesia in 1997 and was freed in March 2008. The police also held Santosh Rawal of Kailali along with 15 gm of brown sugar from Samakhushi. — HNS
