Two injured
BHAKTAPUR: Two persons were injured in a road mishap at Bhate Dhikur along the Araniko Highway on Sunday. Krishnahari Shinkhwal and his brother Ram Hari Shinkhwal were injured when a Banepa-bound van from Bhaktapur hit their motorcycle. The injured are undergoing treatment at B&B Hospital. The police have arrested van driver Ram Bahadur Shrestha. Following the accident, irate locals disrupted highway traffic for a few hours. — RSS
Water shortage
BUTWAL: Butwal has been facing a shortage of potable water after a landslide on Friday swept away a water supply pipeline near the Siddhababa temple. People from 10 wards of Butwal Municipality have been hit hard. The city does not have stone spouts while water in Tinau river is contaminated. — RSS
MMHP layoff
LAMJUNG: Mid-Marsyangdi Hydroelectricity Project laid off over 600 staffers and labourers out of 1,500 as the project reached last phase of construction. According to contractor DDC-JV, the hydropower project had laid off 300 staffers and labourers last year and 600 this year. — RSS
