17 hurt in mishap

TANAHUN: Seventeen persons were hurt when a jeep skidded off the road and plunged 10 feet down the road in Majhkot-6 of Tanahun on Friday morning. The jeep was heading to Bhimad from Bantar. Five of the seriously injured were sent to Pokhara for further treatment while the rest were being treated in Bhimad. — HNS

RAJBIRAJ: Police arrested Area No 3 in-charge of Janatantrik Tarai Mukti Morcha (Jwala Singh) in Saptari Raj Kumar Ram (Jay) from Chhinnamasta on Friday. Ram, 30, of Govindapur in Chhinamasta-3 was held along with a pistol, four rounds of bullets and two bombs, police said. — HNS

Hashish haul

DHADING: Police arrested a man, along with 12 kg of hashish, from Benighat bazaar of Dhading on Friday morning. Acting on a tip-off and the help of locals, police arrested Dil Bahadur Pakhrin of Kiranchowk VDC-6 while he was ready to board a truck heading to Kathmandu. — HNS

Woman robbed

DANG: An unidentified gang robbed a woman of cash and jewellry worth Rs 52,000 from the premises of the Dang District Hospital on Thursday. Subhadra Basnet, a resident of Tribhuvannagar Municipality-1, was robbed when she was standing in a queue in the hospital. — HNS
