Mishap claims teen

KAPILVASTU: One person was killed and another critically hurt when a bus heading to Dang from Butwal collided with a motorbike at Kundrekhola in Kapilvastu on Saturday morning. Motorcyclist Tinaka Telee, 17, a resident of Barkalpur-2, was killed while pillion rider Dinesh GC was critically hurt. Police said the bus driver was held. — HNS

Bomb defused

BARA: A bomb planted by an unidentified gang at Madyamanchal Cold Store in Parsauni-9 of Bara district on Friday night was defused on Saturday morning. A pressure cooker bomb was placed in the store, Awadhesh Yadav, in-charge of Gandak Police Post said. — HNS

Fatal accident

KALIKOT: Two persons were killed while seven were injured when a bus heading to Jumla from Kalikot district headquarters Manma met with an accident in Purbadaha VDC’s Paharekhola on Saturday. Tara Shahi, 28, of Kalikot’s Jubitha VDC-9 and Sulochana Shahi, 38, of Jumla’s Chandanath-6 died on the spot, DSP Dilip Bhandary said. — HNS

Property gutted

DAMAK: Property worth lakhs was gutted in a grocery store on Friday night. The fire that broke out in the shop belonging to Surya Nayak, a resident of Pachgachhi-1, Jhapa, at 8:30 pm destroyed goods worth Rs 10 lakhs in the shop and the warehouse, Nayak said. — HNS
