DFO team beaten up

BARA: Villagers took control over members of a team of officials from the district forest office and beat them up in Ratanpuri VDC in Bara district on Saturday. “A team led by assistant forest officer Bhakta Bahadur Lama who had gone to inspect the encroachment of forest at Dambarpur in Ratanpuri VDC were beaten up by the locals,” Yogendra Yadav, Bara Chief District Officer said. The villagers also vandalised a vehicle belonging to the DFO. A gang involved in deforesting, who had escaped the officials previously, had beaten up the DFO officials with the support of the locals.
