Bodies found

RAJBIRAJ: Corpses of two children were found on Sunday from two separate places in Saptari district. Body of Arabinda Mandal, 8, of Rajbiraj-7 was found buried near a canal in Pharnet VDC. Another body Santosh Kumar Yadav, 15, of Mauwahabelhi, was also found on Sunday. The bodies have been taken to Sagarmatha Zonal Hospital for post mortem, Saptari district police office said. — HNS

Child dies in mishap

SIRAHA: Seven-year-old Sharmila Yadav, a resident of Sukhipur-7, was killed when a tractor hit her in Sukhipur-5 along the Bariyarpatti Zero mile road section of Siraha district on Sunday. Yadav died on the spot, police said. — HNS

Man falls to death

CHARIKOT: A man working for Upper Tamakoshi Hydro Project fell from a hill to death on Friday. Mohan Ranamagar, 28, of Ranibas VDC ward no 9 in Sindhuli district died on the spot after he slipped from a hill at Chhyotchhyot in Dolakha district’s Lamabagar VDC. He fell 200 meters down while he was on his way to the project office at Gongar after playing Holi. The incident site is 16 km north of district headquarters Charikot. Although his body was brought to the district headquarters Charikot on Sunday, it could not be delivered to his relatives as they had not arrived, Deputy Superintendent of Police Surendra Prasad Mainali said. — HNS

One injured in blast

BIRATNAGAR: Forty-year-old Shanta Banjara, a resident of Khotang Shuntale, was seriously injured when a bomb buried by the Nepal Army during insurgency went off on Sunday. He sustained serious injuries in his right hand and right leg, police said. Banjara has been taken to Dharan-based BP Koirala Health Science Institute for treatment. It is learnt that the bomb was buried by Nepal Army personnel who were on security duty at Suntale Telephone Repeater Tower. — HNS
