Truck runs over worker

KAPILVASTU: A worker of Mahalaxmi Sugar Mills died when a truck hit him here on Saturday. Sheshnath Chauwe, 35, of Udaypur VDC-1 was killed in the accident, police said. Meanwhile, seven persons were injured in Tanahun in two road accidents on Friday and Saturday. — RSS/HNS

Bombs detonated

RAUTAHAT: Property worth around one lakh rupees was destroyed when two bombs went off in the house of Rajib Manandhar at Krantichowk in Gaur municipality-5 on Saturday night. Three sweet shops based in the house caught fire after the blasts, causing a loss of one lakh rupees. An unidentified group had left the bombs in the house. Nobody has owned up the act so far. — HNS

Vehicles vandalised

ITAHARI: Cadres of the Sanjalgpalungwa group of the Federal Limbuwan Rajya Parishad on Saturday vandalised four vehicles claiming that the movement defied their bandh. The Palungwa supporters, who had called a two-day bandh on Friday, vandalised the vehicles at Halgada chowk of Itahari, police said, adding that tension prevailed in the area after the

incident. A police team brought the situation under control later. Over 24 passenger vehicles bound for Jhapa from Kathmandu remained stranded here due to the bandh. Police had to provide escort to the stranded buses. — HNS
