MAHOTTARI: Police and a patrolling team of forest officers seized timber worth lakhs of rupees from Mahottari on Saturday night. A team of Armed Police Force led by SP Dilip Basnet and forest patrolling team seized the timber that had been left unclaimed in the forest and handed it over to the Sagarnath Forest Development Project at Ramnagar. — HNS
SSB arrests Nepali
RAJBIRAJ: Indian police on Sunday morning arrested a Nepali citizen, Ashok Yadav, a resident of Nargho VDC-5 in Sarlahi, from Nyauregaun in Bihar on the charge of killing Lal Mahamad of Andharamad of Bihar at Hathari Bishnupur VDC in Saptari four days ago. The Indian Seema Surakshya Bal arrested Ashok for investigation in connection with the killing, Ashok’s brother Parmananda Yadav said. — HNS

Man held with arms
SIRAHA: Police held one person with weapons from Lahan on Saturday. A team of police from Armed Police Force Border Security Office in Siraha led by DSP Bhim Thapa arrested Mohamad Khalik alias Chhotu, a resident of Lahan-4 from Lahan-8, along with two homemade pistols and two rounds of bullets at midnight, the police said, claiming that Khalik was involved in cases of robbery. — HNS

ITAHARI: A patrolling team of police on Sunday seized materials used for making bombs and explosives kept under the bridge on Sunsari river on the border of Inaruwa municipality and Bhokraha VDC. Eleven detonators, 500 grams of explosives, bolts, 12 metres of wires and some bullets were seized, SP of the Armed Police Force, Nagendra Thapa, said. — HNS
