Minors killed in fire

BAGLUNG: Two boys from Jaidi VDC of Baglung district died when fire engulfed a cowshed belonging to Aising Rana of Jaidi VDC-5 on Monday, the police said. It identified the dead as Omkar, 4, son of Durga Bahadur Rana, and Tej Bahadur, 5, son of Min Bahadur Rana. — RSS

2 killed in Dhanusha

JANAKPURDHAM: An unidentified gang killed two persons in Dhanusha district on Sunday night. Pawan Mandal, former chairman of Patanu VDC, was killed by hitting him with a sharp weapon. Meanwhile, Koshila Yadav (70) of Badhaban Tole of Balabakhar VDC-1 was strangled to death by an unknown gang on Sunday night. — HNS

Kidnapped kid freed

JHAPA: Villagers managed to free a three-year old child, who was kidnapped by a woman following a money dispute with his father, on Monday. Niraj Timsina (3), the son of Arjun Timsina, a resident of Jamunbari, Surunga-2, Jhapa, was kidnapped by Devkumari Tamang (30) of Danabari-3, Ilam, on Monday. However, the villagers nabbed Tamang and handed her to the Area Police Office, Birtamod. — HNS
