YCL captures property

ITAHARI: The Young Communist League cadres on Thursday captured the house and belongings of Ramesh Shrestha, former chairman of the Sunsari district development committee. They seized Shrestha’s two-storey house and two motorcycles in district headquarters and a three-storey house belonging to Shanker Dulal, former DDC chairman during royal regime. The YCL cadres also hoisted flags on the houses and padlocked them. The police, however, later removed the locks. — HNS

Elderly man shot

SIRAHA: An armed gang shot dead an elderly person at Ramnagar Mirchaiya in Siraha in the wee hours of Thursday. Ram Pratap Shah of Ramnagar Mirchaiya-9 was shot in the temple at 1.00 am and he died instantly, police said. — HNS
