Property gutted
GULMI: Property worth lakhs of rupees was damaged when a warehouse at Tamghas of Gulmi District caught fire on Saturday. According to the police sources, the house of Rem Lal Pandey of Naya Bazaar was destroyed in the incident. The fire had destoyed the property worth Rs 10 lakhs, including goods and clothes, before the locals and the security personnel doused it. — HNS

GULMI: Bhakta Bahadur Thapa of Harrachaur VDC in Gulmi was killed when a truck hit him at Rupakot on Saturday. The kin of the victim have sought compensation. — HNS
Bomb defused
PARASI: A squad of the Nepali Army from Butwal deactivated a powerful bomb, which was planted by an unidentified group, at Tikapur of Nawalparasi along the East-West Highway on Saturday. According to the police, the bomb was planted at a waiting room in Basabasahi. Three bombs were deactivated by the army in Makar VDC last week. — HNS
Girl hurt in blast
Sindhupalchock: An 11-year-old Putali Tamang of Phulpingkot VDC was severely injured when a socket bomb went off on Friday night at 11 p.m. at her house. According to the police reports, Tamang is undergoing treatment in Bir Hospital, Kathmandu. Sindhupalchock DSP Pramod Kharel said the investigation into the incident was on. Kharel suspected that the girl brought the bomb to her house but her family claimed that someone had placed the bomb in their house. — HNS
