Five hurt in mishap

Dhading: Five persons were injured when a truck heading for Dhadingbesi from Malekhu met with an accident at Sasaha of Muralibhanjyang- 2 of Dhading today. Five persons, including Mayadevi Khanal, Sitaram Neupane and Kumar Silwal, were injured. They are undergoing treatment in Dhading District Hospital, the Dhading District Police Office said. Meanwhile, relatives of one Bhuwandas Shrestha, who was found dead, claimed that he was killed. Today, they blocked Prithvi Highway and demanded action against the guilty. Police has arrested three persons in connection with the ‘murder’. — HNS

Man found dead

KATHMANDU: The body of Dipak Bikram Bhandari, 40, was found on the banks of the Bagmati river at Sankhamul on Sunday morning, police said. Police said Bhandari’s hands had been tied at the back. On Saturday night, a group of six persons including two women, had kidnapped Bhandari from his residence at Shankhamul, police said. — HNS

Bandh hits Bara life

BARA: The five-day Bara bandh called by the JTMM-J affected normal life in Kalaiya on the third day on Sunday. The bazaar remained closed and vehicles did not ply. JTMM-J’s Madhes Government chief of Bara Tabraj Bhai said that they have not forced the closure of educational institutions. — HNS

Two drown to death

NEPALGUNJ: Two persons — Phuljhariya Tharu, 24 and Raj Kumari Tharu, 18 — of Raniyapur-1 drowned in the Pedari stream on Sunday. They duo was collecting broom sticks near the stream when the incident occured, DSP at the Banke, Krishna Hari Sharma said. — HNS
