Eight villagers hurt

Siraha: Eight villagers were injured in a scuffle with armed robbers at Bhorleni of Bishnupurkatti-1 in Siraha district on Saturday night. They were injured when retaliating against a group of 30-35 armed robbers who were trying to take control of the area and rob the residents. — HNS

Man killed in Iraq

KHASAULI: The final rites of one Shukra Raj Gurung of Anchalpur, who had been killed in a bomb explosion in Baghdad on August 11, was performed at Bhairahawa on Sunday. Gurung’s body had been brought to Kathmandu on Thursday, his family sources said. — RSS

Three arrested

CHITWAN: Police on Saturday arrested three persons on Saturday and Sunday for trading in rhino horns. Fertiliser traders Keshav Uprety, Bishal Tamang of Sukum-8 in Padampur VDC and an unidentified person were taken into custody, said Chitwan National Park Chief Conservation Officer, Annarath Baral.
