Two hurt in firing

SIRAHA: Two persons were hurt in police firing at Ramnagar on Sunday. Police said they resorted to firing as locals gheraoed the Mirchaiya Area Police Office (APO) and pelted them with stones. The locals were demanding the release of chairperson of the management committee of the Mohan Higher Secondary School, Hari Kishor Mahato, and a local, Santosh Shah. The Mirchaiya APO had arrested Mahato on Friday on the charge of mistreating headmaster of the Mohan Higher Secondary School Rambujh Thakur. — HNS

KATHMANDU: Minister for Foreign Affairs Sahana Pradhan said that the namelist of ambassadors to be appointed in various countries will be presented at the cabinet meeting on Monday. Talking to journalists at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Pradhan informed that the Prime Minister and Maoist chairman Prachanda have reached an agreement to this effect. The namelist of ambassadors will be sent to Parliament once the cabinet decides on it on Monday, Pradhan further said. — RSS

KATHMANDU: The Meeting of Central Working Committee of Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) has hailed the decision to fix the date of constituent assembly election for November 22.
