Maoist abducted

RAUTAHAT: Activists of the Jwala Singh-led Janatantrik Tarai Mukti Morcha (JTMM) on Saturday abducted a Maoist cadre Lal Bahadur Majhi with two bombs from the Pashupati Community Forest at Junglesahiya in Rautahat. JTMM activists headed by Kheharu abducted Majhi, JTMM district chief Ajay Das said. — HNS

Jailbird escapes

RAJBIRAJ: An inmate of Saptari district jail, Hazrat Miyan, 25, escaped from captivity on Saturday. He was serving term for the past three years on rape charge. Eyewitnesses said four persons on two motorcycles helped him escape from a market, where he had gone to buy vegetables for inmates. They also beat up a police constable Bhola Yadav who was accompanying the inmate. — HNS
