CA meet deferred

KATHMANDU: A meeting of the Constituent Assembly (CA) that was scheduled for Sunday has been put off till Monday due to the death of Nepali Congress president and former prime minister and CA member Girija Prasad Koirala. The same meeting has been called for 3:00 pm on Monday.

Bandh called off

KAKADVITTA: The Federal Limbuwan State Council has withdrawn an indefinite bandh it had called in nine districts of the eastern region. The party said the strike has been called off following the death of Girija Prasad Koirala, the former Prime Minister and President of the Nepali Congress. It had called the bandh demanding that Manil Tamang, a student killed by the police last year, be declared a martyr and the government provide Rs 1 million as compensation to the Tamang’s kin.

Animal sacrifice

HATAUDA: A rally was organised against animal sacrifice with the slogan ‘Let’s stop sacrificing animals’ in Hatauda city on Saturday. The rally was organised by the Patanjali Yoga School. The rally that started from the office of Makawanpur chambers of commerce and industries went around Hetauda city and converged at the Bhutan Devi temple.
