Four idols stolen

BARA: Four idols — one each of Ram, Sita, Laxman and Hanuman — were stolen from the Majhariya’s Ram Janaki temple in Bara district on Tuesday night. The stolen idols were worth around Rs 85,000, said a local Ram Babu Yadav. The thieves also made away with a new bicycle and left behind their old one, he said. — HNS

Security tightened

DHADING: The local administration has tightened night-time security in Dhadingbensi, the headquarters of Dhading, and adjoining areas following a rise in crime. The administration has banned the sale, purchase and consumption of alcohol after 9 pm at public places. — HNS

KAVRE: The All Nepal National Independent Students’ Union-Revolutionary (ANNISU-R) eastern region special coordination committee on Wednesday submitted a memorandum to the Kathmandu University (KU), demanding 50 per cent discount in all tuition fees. — HNS
