Ministers sworn in

KATHMANDU: Prime Minister Madhav Kumar Nepal on Thursday administered the oath of office and secrecy to the Minister for Industries Mahendra Raya Yadav in the presence of President Ram Baran Yadav at Shital Niwas. PM Nepal had appointed Yadav as a minister on Wednesday. Prime Minister also administered the oath of office to the Minister of State for Industries Dan Bahadur Chaudhary at Singha Durbar. — HNS

Blasts in Parasi

PARASI: Bombs exploded in sub-health post and post office of Dubauliya, Nawalparasi on Wednesday night. The explosions damaged furniture and documents in the offices, police said. The office of VDC, the sub-health post and post office are in the same house. Police recovered some pamphlets related to the Janantantrik Madhesi Mukti Tigers (JMMT) from the site. — HNS

Murder probe sought

Kathmandu: Vachan Shiromani Pundit Narayan Prasad Pokhrel Smriti Pratisthan today sought a high-level probe into the murder of Pundit Pokhrel, who was recently declared religious martyr. Addressing a press conference in the capital, Bishnu Khanal, general secretary of the Pratisthan, said, “After frequent pressure and submission of memorandums to the concerned bodies, government finally recognised Pokhrel as the first religious martyr of the country.” — HNS
