Maoists building road

POKHARA: Construction of a road on the banks of Seti river at Ramghat (Pokhara) has started at the initiative of the Maoists. The Maoist-affiliated All Nepal Construction Workers’ Association and local workers began constructing a 150-metre-long road to facilitate sand-mining from the river and to make it easier for people to perform the last rites of deceased kin, a Maoist worker said. — HNS

Eye camp begins

DHANKUTA: A three-day Nepal-India Friendship Eye camp began on Monday in the District Hospital, Dhankuta. Nepal Netra Jyoti Sangh and District Health Office Dhankuta jointly organised the camp while it is supported by the Indian Embassy, Lumbini Institute of Ophthalmology and Lumbini Rana-Ambika Eye Hospital. Chief District Officer of Dhankuta Nawa Raj Upadhyay inaugurated the camp. — HNS
