Dalits ‘roughed up’ :

Rajbiraj: One Hari Narayan Shah allegedly beat up two Dalits at Goraptar tole of Thelia VDC in Saptari district on Saturday night. “I saw Hari Narayan in a Dalit woman’s house last night and when I asked him why he had gone there when the woman’s husband was not home, he beat me mercilessly using a rod,” said a victim, Hiralal Khatwe.He also beat up my 60-year-old mother when she came to save me, Khatwe said.— HNS

1 killed in bus mishap :

BIRATNAGAR: A microbus driver was killed on Sunday when his bus collided with another passenger bus at the Numuwa police post Hattimoda VDC in Morang. The passenger bus was headed for Biratnagar from Siraha and the microbus was bound for Dharan from Biratnagar. Fifteen others were injured in the accident. The injured have been admitted to the Koshi zonal hospital and Birat Nursing Home in Biratnagar. The condition of three is said to be critical. — HNS
