LAHAN: A patrol team of the Armed Police Force (APF) arrested a youth with possession of an automatic pistol at Madar, the southern bordering area in Siraha district during a regular security check on Wednesday night.

The suspect has been identified as Lekhnath Prasad Yadav (28) of Itari Prasahi in Siraha.

According to Mahesh Shrestha, SP at the APF Border Security Force Office, Yadav was riding on a motorbike from Jayanagar in India to Siraha with the 9mm automatic pistol loaded with seven rounds of bullets.

Police have seized a mobile phone, a motorcycle and some cash from Yadav's possession.

Yadav has been handed over to the Nepal Police for the further investigation.

Earlier on Tuesday, police had arrested two persons with a country-made pistol and its four bullets from Inarwa on Tuesday
