One dead, three injured in Nuwakot truck accident

NUWAKOT: A person died and three other sustained injuries after the mini truck they were travelling on met with an accident in Belkotgadhi Municipality-11 along the Pasang Lhamu road section of Nuwakot district on Sunday evening.

The deceased has been identified as Aashish Tamang (17) of Belkotgadhi Municipality-13 of the district and injured as driver Kumar Tamang (25), passenger Kiran lama (17), both the residents of Kakani Rural Municipality-4, and driver's assistant Kumar Tamang (17) of Kispang Rural Municipality of the district.

According to police, the construction materials laden mini truck (Na 2 Ka 5375) en route from Kakani toward Battar lost its control due to over-speeding and fell some 80 metres below the road in Amaare, injuring four.

The critically injured were rushed to the Kathmandu-based medical facility for further treatment, however, Aashish Tamang succumbed to his injuries on the way informed Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Narhari Regmi, at the District Police Office, Nuwakot.

Meanwhile, three others injured are undergoing treatment in the Kathmandu-based Green City Hospital and they are in critical condition, said DSP Regmi.

Further investigation into the case is underway.
