RAUTAHAT: A motorcyclist died on the spot and two others sustained critical injuries when two motorcycles collided at Pathara, Budharam of Maulapur Rural Municipality-7 in Rautahat district on Saturday morning.

The deceased has been identified as Mukesh Patel (22) of Rajpur Rural Municipality-5 in the district. Patel was riding on the motorcycle (Na 13 Pa 1135).

The injured have been identified as Ramji Yadav (17) of Katahariya Rural Municipality-2 who was riding on another motorcycle (Ba 28 Pa 587) and pillion rider Harendra Yadav (20) of Bijayapur Fatuha Rural Municipality-2.

According to the Rautahat District Police Office, the Yadav duo were heading towards Bankul from Maulapur when their bike collided head-on with Patel's motorcycle, killing him on the spot.

The injured duo were rushed to Gaur District Hospital for treatment from where they were referred to a health institution in Kathmandu, informed DSP Naveen Krishna Bhandari at the DPO.

Police suspected both the bikes were speeding when they collided.
