KATHMANDU: A person died after a tractor he was travelling on met with an accident in Shuklagandaki Municipality of Tanahun district, on Friday.

The deceased has been identified as Basanta Parajuli (28) of Shuklagandaki-8 in the district.

The incident occurred when the tractor (Ga 1 Ta 4203) heading towards Tinkhole from Khairenitar Bazaar skidded and fell some 15 metres down the road in Shuklagandaki Municipality-11 yesterday evening, police said.

Parajuli was found squashed against the tractor engine, said police.

The body has been sent to the District Hospital in Damauli for the postmortem.

Meanwhile, the search is on for the tractor driver who fled the scene immediately after the incident, the Belchautara-based Area Police Office informed.
